Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He
concludes by
saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously
watching as the
President sits, head in hands.

Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a
brazillion?

Aborto legal! Casamento gay legal! Abaixo ao visto religioso! Liberdade já!

Artist Augusto Boal on the "Theater of the Oppressed"

http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=05/06/03/1351233

Famed Brazilian Artist Augusto Boal on the "Theater of the Oppressed"

We are joined in our studio by one of Latin America's most famed dissident artists, Brazilian Augusto Boal. He reflects back on his life in exile and his use of theater as a tool of resistance. Brazilian artist and activist Augusto Boal sees theater as a dialogue and an opportunity to act out social change. Drawing on Paulo Friere's pedagogy of the oppressed, Boal developed Theater of the Oppressed out of his experimental work at the Arena Theater in Sao Paulo during the 1950s and 60s. Boal took the theater to factories and farms throughout Brazil and developed plays around the experiences of people silenced by poverty and oppression.

Boal's plays were increasingly censored by the government and in 1971, the military dictatorship imprisoned him for four months. When he was released he was forced into exile and spent fifteen years in Argentina, Portugal and France before returning to Rio.

Theater of the Oppressed techniques--from QUOTE "Invisible Theater" on the streets to solution-oriented "Forum Theater"--spread around the world. Boal is in New York this week running a theater workshop at the Brecht Forum and he joins us now in our firehouse studio. Welcome to Democracy Now.

Date: Tue, 10 May 2005 23:13:23 -0700 (PDT)

To:	presidente@planalto.gov.br
CC:	cgm@minc.gov.br, anetto@minc.gov.br, turiba@minc.gov.br, daf-i@mre.gov.br, dai@mre.gov.br, dhs@mre.gov.br, imprensa@mre.gov.br

apoiarem o ex-governo Lavalas.

constituicao haitiana. Alias, ele de la nao deveria
ter saido. Esta entrevista esta em ingles (obvio) e
pode sre vista integralmente aqui:

http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=05/05/10/1319233

Eu pessoalmente acompanho a ocupacao do Haitiana
O Brasil lidera as
forcas da "paz" no Haiti e no momento me envergonha o
Brasil estar sendo condizente com um regime
anti-democratico e principalmente de criminosos no
Haiti.

Haiti realmente me envergonha toda a operacao militar
brasileira juntamente com a ONU na ilha. Acompanho
todos os dias os jornais brasileiros e nada e dito
sobrea situacao anti-democratica no Haiti. Eu
acompanhei toda a historia do sequestro do
ex-presidente Aristides pelas tropas americanas e a
qualquer comunicacao. Estou acompanhando todas as
dias.

as seguintes acusacoes:

A policia
Hiatiana e formada por assassinos e estao lutando por
um regime anti-democratico.

2) O que militares brasileiros estava fazendo com
cameras, tirando fotos da manifestacao pacifica? O que
a policia Haitiana (criminosa) estava fazendo com
rifles de londa distancia? Quem eles estavam querendo
assassinar? Os brasileiros estava ajudando a policia
hiatiana a assassinar mais pessoas?

3) Porque o Brasil e a ONU nao ajuda o ex-primeiro
ministo Ivon Neptune pois o atual regime o mantem a 10

governo (regime) anti-democratico no Haiti e
responsabilidades. Quem sofre e a "verdadeira"
Democracia e os Direitos Humanos mundial. Todos

limitando a proteger a democracia e tirar o atual
regime anti-democratico fora do poder.

Chegou no meu email hoje :

----

Starbucks & Nike, Doing the Right Thing... espero que seja verdade!

Starbucks & Nike, Doing the Right Thing
QuickChanges

Starbucks is #42 on the Business Ethics 100; Nike is #31. Neither firm is without controversy. But today comes a bit of news about each which underscores why these companies made the list.

Starbucks announced today that it is committing to buying 5% of the electricity for US stores from renewable power sources; the move will cut emissions by an amount comparable to removing about 3,200 cars from the road. Now, five percent isn't that much, and in years to come we'll all do much better than that simply by being on the grid. Nonetheless, high profile companies making efforts like this is one of the drivers that will bring that future about faster.

Nike, fresh from unveiling its Considered line of enviroshoes, has just released a detailed corporate responsibility report (after having been silent on the issue since 2002). Among the topics covered in the report is a full list of its suppliers, a move to greater transparency which should be applauded, even by those who remain concerned about past practices. Nike is aware of the need for greater transparency in order to regain public trust: "We felt the risks of any future lawsuit were far outweighed by benefits of transparency," says Hannah Jones, Nike's vice-president of corporate responsibility. "Because if we've learned anything as a company, it's that closing down and not talking about the challenges and opportunities doesn't get you far."

Racismo e crime!

By the way, a camisa do Bob fui eu mesmo que dei para Gil! ;)

peace,
